Jess asked: I have a negative item that is considered joint responcibility so does that change how it affects my score? I don’t get the whole credit thing and don’t know my score but got the free report.
Since when is everyone on Yahoo! concerned with a simple typo??
Sheesh, maybe my B.A. didn’t help me understand the credit game but at least I have manners.

Rae asked: My credit score with trnsunion was 710 in Feb and dropped to 671 in Mar. I pay all of my credit card bills early and always over the minimum ( I only have 2 credit cards). Can someone please help me understand why this may have happened?

scipiovshannibal asked: I’d like to know what the initial drop is in a credit score when a person falls behind on mortgage payments by one month. After the initial drop, does your score continue to drop each month you are not current or is it a one time drop? If it drops more each month you are behind, by how much?

sunny5_30 asked: The increase in my credit card interest rates are not due to anything on my part, but will it make my credit score go down? I know it used to be that if you defaulted, failed to make a payment, were late, or went over the limit they would report it to the credit agencies and your credit would go down. But this time they are all going up, to no fault of mine. (Thanks Gov!!) Any ideas?

spedtrap asked: I closed on my first home on 03/04/009. Now I am in the habit of regularly checking my credit score. But I can’t help but wonder what the mortgage will do to my score. I think it will take a couple of months to see the change in score but in the mean time, I want to know what I can look forward to!

Rich C asked: My mortgage is a 5 yr ARM @ 4.75 and I want to lock in at the best rate. I have a vehicle lease that matures in June and want to make a new car purchase. Both attempts will require a credit check. Which credit score do mortgage companies and car dealerships use to help me get the best interest rate?
